MUST SEE TLCA RPM GUIDE....
http://users.aol.com/tlcatmpt/rpmtbls/index.html
To determine engine RPM at any speed in any
gear...
mph X axle ratio X tranny ratio X transfer case ratio X 336 (divided
by) tire diameter = RPM
Example... your vehicle is going 55 mph with 33" tires and 4:11 gears, tranny
is in 4th gear (1:1), and t-case is in high range (1:1), your RPM = 2300+/-
Speedometer broken? Need to know approximate
MPH at any given RPM?
rpm X tire diameter (divided by) axle ratio X tranny ratio X
transfer case ratio X 336 = MPH
Example... 2300 rpm, 33" tires, 4:11 gears, 4th gear (1:1), high range (1:1),
your approximate MPH = 55
CRAWL RATIO !!!
axle ratio X tranny ratio X tranfer case ratio = crawl ratio
Example... 4:88 gears, 2.75 first gear ratio, 2.313 low range t-case ratio = 31:1
crawl ratio (ok ratio for all around 4 wheeling) Ideal rock crawling ratio is around 60:1
and better
What gears are in your manual tranny?
rpm X tire diameter (divided by) mph X 336 = axle ratio X tranny
ratio X transfer case ratio
MORE TO COME SOON! If you know of any proven
formulas... EMAIL them to me! Also I want to compile a list of gear ratios in all makes
and models of transmissions and tranfer cases, so if you have info on certain models let
me know!
If you would like to know more about any of
the pictures or stories or about advertising on any of my web pages... email me and I will
