I got an 85 S-10 Blazer 2WD W/ a 327 and a turbo 350.... I've always kinda wondered how hard it would be to straight axle it and put a transfer case in to make it 4WD. If that's not within means then i think I'm gonna throw it on craigslist and try to trade it off for a 4x4 70's style chevy. :?

We just did something similar to an S-10 truck and it was already a 4X4... it was something like $1500 just for the conversion. Not counting the axle.

There are pics in this forum somewhere.

Hey i remember seeing the s10 you solid axled a while back, what did you use for the coil springs. I'm helping my son do one now for his senior project in high school. Were using a high pinion dana 44 and all the bracketry from a 79 bronco. were aiming to clear 35's when done. right now were just removed the ifs and the brackets. Wow what a cheesey frame so son is seam welding the frame as i type.

Thinking we may need to use lift springs to achieve the desired ride hieght depending on where we mount the spring buckets at on the frame.

How about the rear end, did you just do a spring over or did you use blocks also? I'm studying everything I can on building a four link for the rear but do to time we may just move the perches on the 9" for the time being.

Can I purchase just lift springs or does a person have to buy a whole lift kit to get the springs.

thanks
Ron
