After having a good look over my GMC Jimmy i have come to the conclusion that the body has more filler then metal now. (previous life as a beach rescue vehicle in California)
I have found another body which seems to be in better condition.

How ever this comes off a 1984 K10 and mine is a 1979 GMC Jimmy.

Are the bodies interchangable? If so would there be any major modifications i would have to make? And if not where is good to get replacment floor pans etc. Bearing in mind i am going to be importing these to England.
What are the differences between the K5, K10 and Jimmy?

The bodies are different. The cut off is 1980.

1973-1975 is the full convertible/full removeable top
1976-1980 is the same body with minor headlight/grille changes
1981-1987 is the same body with minor headlight/grille changes
1988-1991 is the same as the 1981-1987 but has a way cooler front end and is pretty much the same but has a different core support

All the doors are interchangeable.

Yes you can mix and match the different era's and a lot of people have done it... but unless you are prepared to do lots of research and hunt down lots of odds and ends: You need a nice 1976-1980 body for your swap.
