What a weekend! I am still sore from doing so much 4wheeling.

I'm uploading some pics as I type this...

http://www.4wheelingplus.com/manastash04/index.htm

I didn't break anything but I have a few mods I want to do before the next run.

Perhaps Liberty in July? Anyone interested?

- Ron

Well I'm always game for a trip in the manastash.. but it's pretty boring up there. Nothing that even requires 4x4 cept that decent hill climb. Ron, where do you live around? There's several good spots up taneum if you live around the kittitas county. And somewhere along the lines i read about a kittitas county 4x4 site? I think it's a good idea. Only if we can get like the city or the college to link us to their sites. I think it'd be possible too. I can talk to some people i know.

"boring up there" Interesting... have you been to the Funny Rocks? Have you done the Shoestring?

There are a ton of tough trails in the Manastash that require a 4X4. The Taneum is mostly single track non-4X4 trails. Are you sure you aren't confusing the two areas?

Perhaps you are thinking about the very East end of the Manastash?

BTW: I live in Cle Elum. I'm certain you've seen my truck and my buddies Suburban rolling through E-burg with our logo on them.

As for a Kittitas County 4X4 site... you've found it. http://www.4WheelingPlus.com has been up since 1996. There are over 1000 photos and many stories.

I've also thought about starting a Kittitas County Off Road Coalition. It would be set-up to educate people about the do's & do NOT's of Off Roading in Kittitas County.

What do you think?

Well i'd be willing to guess that you're a more on the edge of rock crawling? I'm more of a mudder and hill climber myself. I don't like to dent myself. And Yes i have seen your rig. Have you ever been to mud flats? that's pretty decent. And then theres a really nice hill climb in manastash i haven't really peaked around out there in a long time though.

Well... I like rock crawling but it's not my favorite off road adventure. I prefer scenic and technical trails.

Mudding was fun back when I didn't have any real off road experience but it's not fun anymore since anyone with at least one spinning tire can go mudding. It's not much of a challenge to go mudding so I prefer the technical trails. :)

Be careful as mudding in Kittitas County is a very sticky (no pun intended) issue right now... so the farther we stay away from tje mud the more likely we will continue to have areas to go off roading in the future.

Which hill climb are you talking about in the Manastash? I can think of a few. Do you remember which trail you were on?

What type of rig do you have?

Are you going up to the Manastash this Memorial Day?

Well I don't remember road names well at all. But i drive a 1500 k silverado, red. You've probably seen it around town. I just don't really like rock crawling due to the fact that i don't have a lift on my rig yet and.. it can really mess stuff up. But I'm always game for wheeling. If you need company for memorial day.

Infact if you ever want to go up in the hills just let me know I'm just about always game unless i'm too drunk to drive or busy with work. I need to explore more up manastash. Since I went up in the summer when it was so dry that 4x4 was like un-needed wherever i went.

Wow. I can't believe it's almost Manastash time again!

I am soooo far behind on getting ready.

Ok: Since I didn't have time to properly plan anything this year I am just going to load up the camper & toys and head up to the Manastash and have fun!

I am NOT sure if I am going to camp at Rider's camp like all the other years... I am thinking about going into the Manastash camp ground and setting up camp there since it's farther away from the main road and the 4W311 trail head. I'll have the kids this year and it's scary being so close to the main road and the 4W311 trail head with all the vehicles going every where.

So: Look for me in the Manastash camp ground if you don't see me at Rider's camp.
